Alien Sightings

There have been many reported alien sightings around the world. Here are some of the top most famous alien sightings that have been reported:

1. Sightings in Roswell, New Mexico, USA
The alien sightings and UFO sightings of Roswell New Mexico are perhaps the most famous of all sightings. Part of what makes these sightings so popular among UFOlogists is that the belief that the whole incident was covered up by the government. It is also considered one of the most credible of all sightings ever reported. The incident involved a crash of an unidentified object – believed to be a UFO – in the summer of 1947 near Roswell New Mexico. The incident was investigated by the military who actually confirmed via press release that they had actually recovered a “flying disk”. The statement was later retracted to state it was a “weather balloon” that was actually recovered.

2. Battle of Los Angeles – aka Great Los Angeles Air Raid
Los Angeles, California, USA

With the release of a movie of the same name, the Battle of Los Angeles is starting to become known again to the current generation. Although the movie was fiction, it’s events are based on fact. Battle of Los Angeles refers to events that took place in February of 1942 when a huge flying “unidentified” object flew in an approach towards Los Angeles. The Coast Artillery Brigade fired into the air at the unknown aircraft. The disc-shaped object was widely believed to be a UFO, although current accounts claim that it was possibly a combination of a “weather balloon” sighting and nerves on edge from World War II.

3. Clyde Tombaugh

Clyde Tombaugh, a professional and distinguished astronomer reportedly saw six to eight rectangular lights in the sky. He said of the sighting “I doubt that the phenomenon was any terrestrial reflection, because… nothing of the kind has ever appeared before or since… I was so unprepared for such a strange sight that I was really petrified with astonishment.”
